Camberwell Business Club

Welcome to the CBC

The Camberwell Business Club was established in 1948 and has been in operation ever since.
It presently has a small but effective membership of about 30 and provides an informal forum for fruitful discussion on many matters of importance to members and the local community. The range of issues covered includes Local Government, Finance and Investment, Business Management, Property, Education, Health, the Arts and Business Technology.

Membership and Speakers

Membership includes retailers, small business proprietors and managers, building owners, home office specialists, developers, bankers, accountants, lawyers, and other professional people.

The Camberwell Business Club welcomes speakers from many disciplines. For example, members have been addressed by a representative of the World Bank, the CEO of the State’s peak power authority, an ultra-marathon runner, Councillors and senior officers of the City of Boroondara, a Director of the REIV, the Co-Captain of the Melbourne Magic and the Honorary Consul for Thailand. Members also speak from their own experience on subjects as diverse as making a will, business and tax planning, early local history and operating a franchise.

Despite its informality, the Camberwell Business Club represents the full range of commercial and professional life within the district, and has networking relationships with other groups and authorities whose views and decisions are important to the area.

New Members

The Club welcomes new members. Meetings are held between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm every Monday (public holidays and January excepted) upstairs at Bistro Deco, 211 Camberwell Road, Hawthorn East (opposite the Rivoli cinema complex) and an appetising cooked luncheon is provided. The annual Membership subscription, which includes the weekly luncheons and an Annual Dinner for members and partners, is currently $319.00 including GST, per half-year.

If you have an interest in the development of Camberwell and would like to exchange views with your peers in a friendly environment over lunch, without obligation, why not join the Club?
